Welcome!

I have been a blog stalker for a while now, I have a list of about 60 blogs that I check out on a daily basis. Yes I know I have no life; but I love it! I have been trying to figure out what I would want my blog to look like, what kind of things that I want to show, and how to get it all going. So I decided to buckle down and stop putting it off and get this thing started. I decided to do my first project the same week that CSI Project is doing their Spray Paint week, and I love spray paint! ( I couldn't find blue high heels when I got married so I spray painted my shoes. My Mom says that I will spray paint anything that doesn't move...)

So here is my very first project!

Urban Outfitters Inspired "Metal Leaf Headband"
                                                                                                                              (Urban Ouffiters Metal Leaf Headband)
This project is super easy I could never pay 20 bucks for this headband. I have really been into headbands for the past couple of years; mostly because I can dress up a pony tail because that is what I wear 99% of the time and because they are super cute.
Supplies:
1 plasic headband
1 or 2 faux greenery leaves
Primer (I used a grey tone because I used a nickel paint)
Metal toned spray paint
Hot glue/ glue gun

First I primed the headband and the leaf front and back. (I decided to just use one leaf because it was the right proportion to my head.)

Let it dry....Yes its taking forever...because it just rained a ton...but it was worth it because its 98 now instead of 106.

Now. Paint the headband and leaf with a couple of coats of your metallic spray paint, be sure that you have covered all the green parts front and back. Ok now you have all your pieces painted and ready to go. Cut the little stem part off your leaf.

And... glue it on the headband.

Now you have a $20 headband for almost nothing...well it didn't cost me anything because I had everything.

Thanks for stopping by! So glad that you were a part of my first post.  I am going to be doing at least a couple of projects a week, as much as I can squeeze in with a one month old and a two year old.
Yall come back soon!

Update: My headband was Amanda's Pick!

  1. Very cute! I think I might have to try that with some flowers. I never thought about using spray paint for headbands. Good idea!.

  2. That is super cute! I've done fabric flowers for my baby, but never thought of headbands for myself! I've been wanting to buy some forever but I can't justify throwing $20 down for it either. Thanks for sharing! Does the spray paint smell go away after awhile? I've never really used it...

Dafni, I never noticed a smell.lol So I went to smelled it, and it has a little bit of a smell, but you have to stick your nose to it. I think after I wear it a couple more times it will go away completely.
Thanks for checking out my blog! Tomorrow I will be posting a dress and a shirt that I made.
